Stella Babalola

Stella Babalola, PhD, is professor and teaches health communication in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. She is Director of the Research and Evaluation Division, Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs. A demographer by training, she has more than 30 years of experience in behavioral research and has worked extensively in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Over the past five years, her research has focused largely on malaria, family planning, and gender-based violence. She is a renowned health communication research and has conducted research and published extensively on multiple health issues, including family planning, malaria, maternal health, sexual and gender-based violence, adolescent sexuality and HIV/AIDS.
