Michael B. Kelly, II is VP of Impact at Participant, the leading media company dedicated to entertainment that stands at the intersection of art and activism. A senior leader in the nonprofit space for the last 20 years, he works across departments to oversee the planning and execution of impact campaigns for films including Radical, Descendant and the News and Documentary Emmy® winner Lowndes County and the Road to Black Power.
Prior to joining Participant, Kelly worked on major campaigns and community initiatives including The Together for Justice coalition, which brought community organizations together to help pass local laws for police use of force, human trafficking, foster care, education reform and various social justice initiatives. He also created The New Black Wall Street, a social economic empowerment plan for communities of color. For his work in the community Kelly has been the recipient of the NAACP and Martin Luther King Jr. Community Outreach Awards.
Kelly was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology from Washington Adventist University and a master’s degree in Divinity from Andrews University. He is currently working on his second master’s in Business Management and Leadership from Western Governors University.
