Kate McCallum

Award-Winning Immersive Media Producer.

Kate is an award-winning executive/producer/writer and content strategist passionate about immersive media, social impact entertainment, future tech+story trends, transmedia storytelling, writing and development. She brings experience working with creative teams, writing and developing feature film screenplays, developing television pilots/bibles, programming design, and is now developing and producing award-winning immersive fulldome/VR content and live event productions. The fulldome shows she has produced, Mesmerica and Beautifica have played in over 50 venues in the US and Canada since 2019.

Kate is a member of the Producers Guild of America and served as a board delegate on the New Media Council Board for six years, three of which she served on the PGA National Board, and was the 2019 recipient of the PGA New Media Council 2019 Marc A. Levey Award for Distinguished Service. Kate helped to facilitate and served as Co-Chair of the PGA SIE: Social Impact Entertainment Task Force and also co-produced events with the UN Creative Coalition Committee. She serves as an Advisor for the SIE Society. 

Kate’s foundation was built through 20 years of experience at NBC Universal and Paramount Studios working with television writers and Executive Producers in film development and production. Kate has had experience in dramatic, comedy, and long-form development and production on shows such as; Miami Vice, The Equalizer, Law and Order and more. She produced the TV Movie What Kind of Mother Are You? for NBC with Alexander Enright & Associates. Kate founded Bridge Arts Media, LLC in 2004 through which she offers services as a producer, writer, development and transmedia consultant, and a live events producer.

Seeing the need for education about immersive media, Kate co-authored an academic book with Dr. Jacki Morie “The Handbook of Research: Global Impacts and Roles of Immersive Media” published by IGI Publishing.

Kate has been an international speaker and presenter, and has taught workshops in Transmedia Development & Writing for TV internationally and for the TV Academy and PGA, as well as presenting at events globally. She also serves as Chair of the Arts and Media Node for The Millennium Project, an international futurist think tank and is a member of the WFSF: World Futures Studies Federation.

She has been programmed and curated C-level events such as: NAB NYC, StoryWorld Quest, DAM NYC, she designed the “TransVergence Summit” addressing trends in story+tech, transmedia/cross platform and was Managing Editor of the Transmedia Coalition Editorial on ProVideo Coalition.
