Executive Producer and Writer known for “Madam Secretary”, “Without a Trace” and “Gilmore Girls.”
David Grae was an Executive Producer and writer for all six seasons on CBS’s hit show Madam Secretary. He started his television-writing career as a staff writer on the Emmy-nominated Joan of Arcadia. He has also been a writer/producer on network hits Without a Trace, Gilmore Girls, and Castle, where he was also an Executive Producer. His play Moose Mating has received several regional and international productions and is published by Dramatists Play Service. He is also the co-founder/co-owner of Gotham Writers’ Workshop, a creative writing school that has thousands of students in New York City and online in practically every country in the world from Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe. Now he also brings his storytelling skills to political ads, including “Lock Her Up,” on the abortion issue, which he made for Congressman Eric Swalwell in October of 2022 and went viral, racking up millions of views on Twitter and YouTube, which Bloomberg US (“California Lawmaker Airs Viral Abortion Ad to Support Vulnerable Democrats” 10/25/2022) reported was the equivalent of $23.1 million of advertising. The ad was even featured on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and MSNBC’s The Reid Out with Joy Reid. David also cut the ad into a 60-second spot that ran in swing districts in Michigan. He has since written and produced three more ads, which have been featured on MSNBC and CNN and have garnered millions of views on social media.
